We manufacture a wide range of air conditioning filters and filter holding frames at our Heidelberg West facility, using high quality Australian materials. As a proudly Australian-owned and operated business, we take pride in standing apart from the influx of generic imported filters and components, offering a local alternative focused on quality and reliability.

Our skilled manufacturing team produces all standard deep bed bag filters and can custom make virtually any type of bag filter to match a provided sample. V-Forms, Flat Panels, FW Flat Panels and Holding Frames are made to order with precision, tailored to exact millimetre specifications. Our design philosophy prioritises performance and durability over cutting material costs, and our in-house production capabilities enable fast turnaround times, avoiding the delays commonly associated with wholesaler distribution or overseas shipping.

All IFS products undergo a strict quality assurance process. Our filters are correctly tagged in accordance with Australian Standard AS 16890.1 and are independently tested to ASHRAE Standard 52.2 by a reputable U.S.-based laboratory, ensuring consistent performance and compliance with international benchmarks.

Supply

IFS supplies a comprehensive range of HVAC, HEPA and Gas Phase filters, along with holding frames and accessories. We supply direct to the trade from our Heidelberg West facility, with most standard product orders available for same day fulfilment. There are no minimum order quantities, and we offer trade accounts to qualified customers.

Our in-house manufacturing capabilities, combined with our trusted network of suppliers, enables us to maintain consistent stock levels, minimise lead times and deliver the right solutions without delay - ensuring our customers receive what they need, exactly when they need it.

We provide a delivery service throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria, with our dedicated in-house team operating on scheduled routes to ensure consistent, on-time delivery.

Upgrade

Modern filtration products like mini pleat filters offer significant advantages over older designs, including longer service life, improved indoor air quality and lower energy consumption. With the rise of environmental rating systems such as the WELL Building Standard, there’s an increasing industry focus on the benefits of high efficiency filtration. Our specialist team can upgrade existing systems or install new filtration setups to support enhanced performance.

We assess airflow capacities and velocities to determine the optimal number and type of filters and frames, while also evaluating the viability of incorporating pre-filtration. Services include the removal of old filter banks and the installation of new systems. Where possible, we retrofit existing systems to accommodate upgraded filters. We also specialise in Gas Phase filter housings and offer retrofit solutions to integrate Gas Phase filters into existing systems for enhanced odour and VOC control. Whether you’re aiming to meet indoor air quality standards or reduce operating costs, we can tailor a solution to meet your specific requirements.

Life Cycle Costing

Our Life Cycle Costing (LCC) Program calculates the total cost of owning and operating an air filtration system - factoring in cost items such as purchase, freight, labour, maintenance, replacement, energy and disposal. It’s a practical tool for comparing products, modelling filtration strategies and supporting budget planning.

Energy costs often make up around 80% of total system expenses. By optimising filter performance, our LCC Program helps reduce both operating and ownership costs. The model is sourced from the NAFA Guide to Air Filtration, 6th Edition (2021).

We also provide expert advice on the ideal static pressure change-out point - the moment when rising energy costs outweigh the benefit of extending filter life - helping you make smarter, cost-efficient decisions.

Installation

IFS offers a specialist installation service for our full range of HVAC, HEPA and Gas Phase filters. Our service personnel are thoroughly trained in all aspects of filter installation and are led by an experienced Field Service Supervisor and Service Manager, who hold NAFA NCT and CAFS qualifications respectively. With operations dating back to 1976, we also maintain an extensive database of filter equipment for sites across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.

We take pride in the quality of our work and provide short lead times from order to commencement. Our large, full-time service team and fleet operate throughout metropolitan Melbourne, regional Victoria, southern New South Wales and Tasmania. For sensitive environments, we offer flexible installation scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays, to avoid disruption to building occupants and operations. We also provide EPA approved waste disposal for expired filters, ensuring compliant and responsible handling.

IFS is registered and approved with all major contractor management systems, including Avetta, Cm3, and Rapid Induct, streamlining pre-qualification and induction processes. Safety is a core priority - our team holds all relevant Work Health and Safety certifications, including Safe Work at Heights and WorkSafe Construction Induction White Cards. All work is carried out under reviewed, site-specific Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), ensuring a professional and safety first approach on every job.
